Administrative Management College Bangalore Karnataka The Administrative Management College originated in 1987 by the Paramahamasa Foundation Trust. AMC a list of UG and PG programs, which include B.com, BBM, BHM, BCA and B.SC under UG level and MBA, MCA, and M.SC in PG level. Course
Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a graduate degree earned at a university that provides theoretical and practical training to help graduates gain a better understanding of general business management functions.
Duration
The duration
of the MBA program shall extend over 4 semesters (two academic years) of 16 weeks
or more each with a minimum of 90 actual working days of instruction in each
semester and 2 to 3 weeks of examinations.
Eligibility
A
graduate degree under 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 pattern under any discipline securing at
least 50% marks in aggregate including languages from a recognized University
in India or abroad.
Honors
degree under 10+2+4 pattern from a recognized university under UGC Act having
at least 50% marks in aggregate including languages.
Candidates
who have passed bachelor / master degree through correspondence / Open
University system from this university or from any other university recognized
by law are exempted from 10+2 pattern. The duration of the degrees must be
three and two years respectively.
Candidates
who pass bachelor/master degree in any university system in single sitting
pattern are not eligible.
In
case of SC/ST/Cat I candidates, there will be a relaxation of 5% in the
aggregate of marks obtained.
All
admissions to CBSMS and affiliated colleges will be made through an entrance
test conducted by appropriate body as approved by Government of Karnataka and
State Level Counseling based on Rank Merit and the reservation rules based on
the seat matrix as announced by the Government of Karnataka from time to time.
Medium of Instruction
The medium of
instruction for all subjects and examination shall be English only.
Minimum Credits and Maximum Credits
There
shall be three categories of courses viz., Core and Compulsory Course,
Specialization Course and Open Elective Course/Soft Core Course. The Open
Electives are the University approved Courses offered by other Departments of
Bangalore University.
The
credits for each of Compulsory Course and specialization course may vary from 2
to 4 credits. In case of open electives course, each paper shall be of 3
credits. A student is required to take one open elective course in III Semester.
Attendance
Each
paper shall be taken for the purpose of calculating attendance.
Students
are required to attend for not less than 75% of the classes in each subject in
order to be eligible to appear for the University examinations.
The
statement of attendance shall be displayed on the Notice Board by the
institution at end of every month for information of students.
Five
marks in Internal Assessment shall be awarded based on the percentage of
attendance as an incentive to the student for regularity in attendance.
A
student who does not satisfy the requirement of percentage of attendance shall
not be permitted to take the examination of that paper(s).

Minimum for a pass
A candidate shall be declared to have passed
the PG program if he/she secures at least a CGPA of 4.0 (Course Alpha-Sign
Grade C) in the aggregate of both internal assessment and semester end examination
marks put together in each unit such as theory papers / practical / project
work / dissertation / viva-voce.
The candidates who pass all the semester
examinations in the first attempts are eligible for ranks provided they secure
at least CGPA of 6.0 (or Alpha-Sign Grade A).
The results of the candidates who have passed
the fourth semester examination but not passed the lower semester examinations
shall be declared as NCL (Not Completed Lower semester examinations). Such
candidates shall be eligible for the degree only after completion of all the lower
semester examinations.
A candidate who passes the semester
examinations in parts is eligible for only Class / CGPA and Alpha Sign Grade
but not for ranking.
There shall be no minimum in respect of
internal assessment.
A Candidate who fails in any of the unit /
project work / Project Report / dissertation / viva-voce shall reappear in that
unit / project work / Project Report / dissertation / viva-voce and pass the
examination subsequently.
Project Work
Each candidate should
undertake a Project work immediately after the second semester examination and
submit a bound copy of the report within two weeks of commencement of III
Semester. This project, under the guidance of a faculty of the institution, has
to be on a live management problem/issue concerning either an organization or
otherwise. The purpose of the project is to develop larger life skills and
positive attitude among students who have to have wider perspective on
society/organization. This could involve a desk study/data analysis/ extension
work or exploration of an idea or its implementation. In other words, a
Management student is expected to enrich with competency/skills/attitudes and
perspectives about live society and organization.
The duration of the project
is four weeks after the completion of II Semester and before the commencement
of III Semester. There will be 25 marks for project report and 25 marks for
viva voce. A minimum of 25 marks out of 50 is required for a pass in the
project work. The viva and the project report will be evaluated by a member of
the panel of examiners and the concerned faculty guide. Specific guidelines
will be issued by PG Department of Management from time to time.
Dissertation
Every student is required to
work on a project in the area of his/her specialization and prepare a
dissertation report under the supervision of a Faculty guide. Prior to the
actual work, the students are required to submit a synopsis of the dissertation
incorporating the statement of problem, objectives and methodology to be
followed and submit the same to the Director, Management Studies, BUB. The
dissertation has to be organization specific but not a macro study or
freelance.
The dissertation duly signed
by the guide and certified by the principal/director is to be submitted in a
bound copy and a soft copy to the university at the end of the fourth semester
before the commencement of the semester examination. The dissertation shall be
evaluated for two hundred marks by two examiners (One of them will be the
faculty member who has guided the work and other will be the external examiner
appointed by the BOE). A minimum of 100 marks is required for a pass in the
dissertation. There shall be a viva-voce examination for 50 marks on the
dissertation. Viva-voce will be conducted by Board of Examiners/examiners
authorized by Chairman of BOE. A minimum of 25 marks is a must for pass in the
viva-voce examination. Student has to work for not less than 45 days on full
time basis on the Dissertation. There will be no classes during this period.
Detailed guidelines will be issued by PG Department from time to time.

MCA (Master of Computer Applications) is a professional master's degree in computer science. It focuses on providing a theoretical as well as practical training to students in the related field.
Duration
The course of study shall be three years.
Eligibility
A candidate with any degree of a minimum of 3 years duration (10+2+3) of Bangalore university or of any other University equivalent there in to with a minimum of 50% of marks in the aggregate of all subjects including languages, if any, provided further, that the candidate has studied mathematics / Computer science /Business Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Applications / Electronics as a subject at PUC level or equivalent HSC (XII Standard) or at Degree level is eligible for admission to MCA Course. Relaxation to SC/ST, Group I be extended as per University norms.
Attendance
In each Semester a candidate should be considered to have successfully undergone the prescribed Course of study if the candidate has attended at least 75% of the classes in each subject (Theory, Lab & Practical).
Scheme of Examination
The Internal Assessment marks should be decided for each of the theory subjects by conducting 2 tests, each of 60 minutes duration, spread over the span of a Semester. A seminar should also be given by the student in the third year and the same to be assessed and evaluated for internal assessment along with the two tests.
The Internal Assessment marks in Practical course is based on the performance in the Laboratory. The Internal Assessment marks for Project work of a candidate is based on the dissertation Seminar.
Eligibility to go to the Higher Semester
A Candidate is allowed to carry over all the previous uncleared (failed) theory papers and Practicals to subsequent semesters from the first to sixth semester.
The maximum period for completion of the course shall be six years from the date of admission.
Minimum for pass and declaration of results
A For a pass in a semester, a candidate shall secure a minimum of 40% of the marks prescribed for a subject in the University Examination (Theory, Practical, Project work) and 50% of the marks in the aggregate inclusive of the Internal Assessment marks obtained in all subjects put together.
The candidates who do not satisfy 7(a) shall be deemed to have failed and have to take exams in the subjects in which he has secured less than 40% at the University examination.
Provision is made for rejection of results of all the subjects of a Semester only once, if the candidate decides to reappear for all the subjects of that semester. Such rejection should be made within 30 days of announcement of result, by making a written application, through the Head of the Institution. If such rejection is in respect of the results of all the subjects of one semester and earn fresh Internal marks as well.
The results of any semester will be declared as pass or fail as the case may be in accordance with regulation 7(a).
To be eligible for the award of the MCA degree, a candidate shall have completed the scheme of training and passed in all subjects prescribed for the Course.
Further to regulation 7(a), the classification followed by the University for all PG courses shall be made applicable for the declaration of results of each Semester.

Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)
is an undergraduate degree course in computer applications. Bachelor in Computer Application (BCA)

Students should individually develop a project. They should
implement their project in college in any RDBMS package or any language
available in the college. The project should web based. The students have to
collect data outside practical hours. Project may be taken outside but must be
implemented in the college. Internal marks can be awarded by the guide by
evaluating the performance of the students during the course of project work.
In viva-voce the questions must be directed only on the project work to access
the involvement and understanding of the problem by the students.
The project carries 200 marks is distributed as follows:
Bachelor of Hotel management or
simply BHM is an undergraduate course which teaches students the various
fundamentals of hotel management
and catering technology. The Administrative Management College of Hotel Management is a leading pioneer College, established in the year 1993. The aim of the Department of Hotel Management to focuses on conceptual, analytical communicative with general awareness skills to meet the needs of the changing and challenging global business scenario.
Duration
The
course of study for the BHM degree shall extend over a period of four academic
years, each academic year comprising of two semesters, and excluding the
duration of the examinations, each semester comprising sixteen weeks of class
work. The candidate shall complete his/her BHM degree within seven years from
the date of admission to the first semester of the course.
Eligibility
Students
who have completed two – year pre-university (class XII or 10 + 2) course of
Karnataka state or equivalent there to, are eligible to seek admission to the
BHM degree course.
Industrial Exposure
The
course being professional the students are required to undergo industrial
exposure in the 5th semester of the programme.
5th
semester training is to introduce the students to the operational aspects of a star
hotel (3 star and above) and he/she is preferably exposed to the four core
departments of the hotel.
The
duration of the training is for 100 days in the 5th semester.
Medium of Instructions
The
medium of instructions and examination shall be in English.
Subjects of Study
A
candidate for the BHM degree course shall seek to study the subjects stated in
the course matrix.

For the purpose of calculating
attendance, each semester shall be taken as a unit
A student shall be considered to have
satisfied the requirements of attendance for the semester, if he/she has
attended in aggregate 75% of the number of working periods in each of the
subjects.
A student who fails to complete the
course in the manner stated above shall not be permitted to take the university
examinations.
Scheme of Examination
There
shall be a university examination at the end of each semester. The maximum
marks for the university examination in each theory paper shall be 70.
Practical exams are out of 50. Internal Marks shall be awarded as per the
course matrix of BHM, approved by the Bangalore University.

Appearance for the
Examination
A candidate shall apply for all the papers in
each examination when he/she appears for the first time. A candidate shall be
considered to have appeared for the examination only if he/she has submitted
the prescribed application for the examination along with the required fees to
the university.
A candidate who is permitted to seek
admission to the particular degree course on transfer from any other university
should study and pass the subjects which are prescribed by the university. Such
candidates shall not how ever be eligible for the award of overall ranks.
Minimum for a pass
Candidates who have obtained
at least 35% of marks each on theory and practical and in aggregate of 40 %
shall be eligible for a pass in that subject. Practical exams are out of 50 and
passing marks is 18. For the project and electives 35 % of marks to be scored
in each category mentioned in the course matrix (Project Report, Internal,
Viva, Log book etc.)
Conditions to keep
terms
A
candidate must pass all papers/subjects offered by the BHM course in Semesters
1 and 2 AND a minimum 50% papers/subjects offered by the BHM course in
Semesters 3 and 4 (excluding Part III) to qualify for promotion to Semester 7.
Theory and Practical papers will be considered as independent papers/subjects
for this purpose.
Such
of those candidates who have failed /remained absent /for one or more papers
henceforth called as “Repeaters”, shall appear for exam in such papers during
the successive examinations.
Examination
for odd/even semester shall be conducted respectively at the end of odd/even
semester (odd with odd & even with even)
The
candidate shall take the examination as per the syllabus offered to him/her at
the time of joining the course.
A candidate has declared pass in theory paper
but failed in Practicum or vice versa should re appear either theory or
practical which ever had failed.
A Bachelor of Science is an undergraduate academic degree awarded for completed courses that generally last three to five years, or a person holding such a degree. Bachelor of Science course comprises of three main subjects –
Chemistry, Zoology and Biotechnology.

B.Sc. is a science stream graduation course with a full name as Bachelor of Science. The specialization of PMCS (Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science) is a combination of subjects like Physics, Mathematics and computer science. The course also includes experimental study and the institutes have lab facilities to enable the understanding.
Duration
It is a 3 year, 6 semester full time undergraduate degree course, affiliated to Bangalore University, Bangalore and recognized by Govt. of Karnataka.
Eligibility
Candidate must have Passed PUC/12th Std. / 10+2/ its equivalent with at least Biology and Chemistry as two optional subjects.

There is a lot of scope for candidates interested for higher studies. They can pursue Masters Degree like M.Sc. with same or related specialization. Candidates having interest in teaching can go for B.Ed. and M.Ed. After Post Graduation, PhD can be done to have scientific career afterwards.

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com)
is an undergraduate degree in commerce and related subjects. The course is designed to provide
students with a wide range of managerial skills and understanding in streams
like finance, accounting, taxation and management. The aim of the Department of Commerce and Management to ensure that every student gets an equal opportunity to become an enterprising and productive citizen and thereby contribute to the great pool of human resource.
Duration
The
course of study is four (04) years of Eight Semesters. A candidate shall
complete his/her degree within eight (08) academic years from the date of
his/her admission to the first semester. However, students successfully
complete Two (02) years of the course and leave the course, will be awarded
Diploma in Commerce. Students successfully completes Three (03) years of the
course will be awarded Bachelors Degree in Commerce (B.Com.). An option is
provided to the students to continue the course to the Fourth year and those
who successfully complete the Fourth year will be awarded Bachelors Degree in
Commerce (Hon.) {B.Com, (Hon.)}.
Eligibility
Candidates
who have completed Two year Pre – University course of Karnataka State or its
equivalent with Business Studies and Accountancy as two major subjects of study
in both first and second year pre-university are eligible for admission into
this course.

shall be English. However, a candidate will be permitted to write the
examination either in English or in Kannada.

There shall be a university examination at

each paper shall be 70.
Of the 30 marks of Internal Assessment, 20
marks shall be based on two tests. Each test shall be of at least 01 hour
duration to be held during the semester. The average of two tests shall be
taken as the internal assessment marks. The remaining 10 marks of the Internal
Assessment shall be based on Attendance and Skill Development Record of 05
marks each.
The marks based on attendance shall be
awarded as given below:
75%
to 80% = 02 marks. 81%
to 85% = 03 marks. 86%
to 90% = 04 marks. 91%
to 100% = 05 marks.
Marks for skill development shall be awarded
by the faculty concerned based on Skill Development exercises provided in the
syllabus of each paper. The student is required to prepare/workout the
concerned exercises in a Record Book maintained by him/her and shall submit it
the faculty concerned at least 15 days before the last date of the semester.
Minimum for a Pass
Candidates who have obtained
a minimum of 35% marks in university examination (i.e. 25 marks out of 70 marks
of theory examination) and 40% in aggregate (i.e., total of university
examination and internal assessment marks) in each subject shall be eligible
for a pass or exemption in that subject.

graduates with B.Com, B.B.M, BBA & BBS as basic degree from a recognized
university are only eligible to teach and to evaluate the subjects (excepting
languages, compulsory additional subjects and core Information Technology
related subjects) mentioned in this regulation. Languages and additional
subjects shall be taught by the graduates as recognized by the respective board
of studies.
Skill Development / Record
Maintenance & Submission
Every college is required to
establish a dedicated business lab for the purpose of conducting practical/on line
assignments to be written in the record.
In every semester, the student should
maintain a Record Book in which a minimum of 5 exercises/programs per subject
are to be recorded. This Record has to be submitted to the Faculty for
evaluation at least 15 days before the end of each semester.
Scheme of Examination
There
shall be a university examination at the end of each semester. The maximum
marks for the university examination in each paper shall be 70.
Of
the 30 marks of Internal Assessment, 20 marks shall be based on two tests. Each
test shall be of at least 01 hour duration to be held during the semester. The

Project Report &
Viva-Voce:
The
Project report in the sixth semester carries 100 marks (70 marks for project
report and 30 marks for viva – voce) which shall form part of Sixth semester
examination.
There
shall be single valuation of project report and this will be done
simultaneously along with Vive - Voce. Internal Assessment does not carry any
marks.
A
batch of Two (02) Project Report and Viva – Voce Examiners shall evaluate and
conduct Viva - Voce examinations for a maximum of Thirty (30) Project Reports
and Conduct Viva – Voce Examinations for 4 the same candidates.
The
principal of the college shall submit the project reports of the students, to
the university within three days after the completion of Viva - Voce
examination.
Candidate
shall obtain a minimum of 40% marks (Including Viva-Voce) in this subject
(project Report) failing which he she shall revise and resubmit before the
commencement of the next examination. However, no student shall be allowed to
resubmit the project report after three consecutive chances.
The
student who fails to submit the project report shall not be permitted to take
the examination.
The
board of examiners or their nominees‟ shall conduct viva-voce examination for
Project Report.
Minimum for a Pass

Classification of
Successful Candidates:
The
results of the First to Sixth semester degree examination shall be declared and
classified separately as follows:
a. First Class: Those who obtain 60% and
above of the total marks of parts I, II
and III.
b. Second Class: Those who obtain 50%
and above but less than 60% of total marks of parts I, II and III.
c. Pass Class: Rest of the successful
candidates who secure 40% and above but less than 50% of marks in part I, II
and III.
Class
shall be declared on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained by the
candidates in this degree course (excluding languages (part I) and non-core
subjects (Part III)) as a whole. However, only those candidates who have passes
each semester university examination in the first attempt only shall be
eligible for award of ranks. The first ten ranks only shall be notified.
B.Sc. Is A Science Stream Graduation Course With A Full Name As Bachelor Of Science. The Course Also Includes Experimental Study And The Institutes Have Lab Facilities To Enable The Understanding.
Microbiology : B.Sc. Microbiology or Bachelor of Science in Microbiology is an undergraduate Microbiology course. Microbiology is a broad discipline that involves the study of the biology of bacteria, viruses, protozoa and fungi. The main focus of the course is the pathogenic potential of the organisms that cause disease in man. The course also covers aspects of the biochemistry, physiology and genetics of microorganisms.
Chemistry : Chemistry is the scientific discipline involved with elements and compounds composed of atoms, molecules and ions: their composition, structure, properties, behavior and the changes they undergo during a reaction with other substances.
Zoology : Zoology, also known as Animal Biology, is the branch of biology that deals with living as well as extinct animals and their interaction with their ecosystems. Eligibility criteria
Should have cleared the Pre-University examination of Karnataka, or an equivalent examination conducted by any other board/Pre-University or 10+2, equivalent examination should have minimum 35% or pass marks aggregate in PCB/CBZ.

Mathematics :Mathematics is the study of quantity, structure, space, and change. A Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics is a culmination of in-depth knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, calculus and other theories. It also explores related topics like Computer Science and Statistics. It helps students in building a good foundation base for pursuing higher studies.
Computer Science : B.Sc. Computer Science is an undergraduate program which deals with subjects and topics related to computer application and services. It is the study of principles and fundamentals of computers, where the latest technologies and trends are the most important topics. The course empowers students to deal with the technicalities and issues with authorized knowledge of databases and analytical skills.

Admission
Applications are available in online as well as in direct mode. Application can be reap from the Admission office, AMC Group of institutions. Before filing the application form go through the form once and follow the term and conditions of the form. The students must fill the form with correct Name, address, contact no and others, asked in the online application form. They should make sure that all the information is correct and related to the documents mentioned in the application from. Make sure that the admission form is filled before the due date or else the application will be invalid or cancelled.
Procedure
Application forms and information brochures are to be obtained from the college office and may also be downloaded from this website.
Completed application forms should be submitted on or before the notified date.
Candidates provisionally selected for admission should appear before the Admission Committee with parents/guardians.
