Medical Colleges in Karnataka

Karnataka, formerly "The State of Mysore", is an Indian state located in the southwestern region of India. Bangalore is the state capital, and Kannada is the state's official language. The state is the home of the many great universities in India, which include The Indian Institute of Science, the Indian Institute of Management (Bangalore), The Indian Institute of Technology (Dharwad), NIMHANS (Bangalore), CMR University, The National Institute of Technology Karnataka (Surathkal), Manipal Academy of Higher Education, REVA University, Christ University, and Jain University. Karnataka can be reached by air, sea, railways and road. It has two international airports, Bangalore and Mysore. It also has airports at Belgaum, Mangalore, Bellary, Hampi, Hubli, Gulbarga and Mysore. It has 11 seaports, New Mangalore Port is the primary port, and railways and roads connect Karnataka to other states and inter-state destinations. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the standard entrance test for admission to medical courses in India's government and private colleges. NEET PG is the common entrance exam for Medical PG courses. Some private universities have their own entrance exams. MBBS, Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), Doctorate of Medicine (DM), and MCh (Master of Chirurgiae) are the different medical courses available in India. The candidate must pass the entrance exam and interview to qualify for the course admission. The medical course completed, students have ample opportunities in government, military, and private hospitals, clinics, super-speciality hospitals, research labs, pathology labs, pharmaceutical companies, NGOs, medical universities, and colleges as doctors, general physicians, researchers, professors, deans, principals, etc. Some of the top recruiters include Apollo Hospital, Fortis Hospital, Medanta Hospital, Sun Pharma, Ranbaxy, Amway, etc. Medical doctors are also qualified to work abroad after passing the required examinations prescribed by each country.
