Courses Offered

Course

The post graduate masters degree enables the students to face challenging trends in commerce and industry following a credit pattern with two compulsory and two special papers in every semester it equips the students to have a thorough grounding on various commercial techniques.

Duration

The Master Of Commerce Is A (M.Com. F.A) Is A Two-Year (Four Semesters) Program Consisting The 4 Semesters.

Eligibility

Candidates who have passed the three year B.Com./ B.B.M. degree examination of Bangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto, provided they have obtained not less than 50% (45% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in the aggregate in Commerce subjects.

Scheme Of Instruction

In each semester there will be seven papers (including practicals)
There will be 27contact hours per week. This includes practicals.
Candidates are required to maintain record for computer practicals, which will have to be certified by the Chairman / Co-ordinator of the course, failing which students will not be permitted to take the end semester examination in that subject.

Attendance

Each Course (Theory/Practical) Shall Be Treated As An Independent Unit For The Purpose Of Attendance. A Student Shall Attend A Minimum Of 75% Of The Total Instruction Hours In A Course (Theory/Practical) Including Tutorials And Seminars In Each Semester. There Shall Be No Provision For Condonation Of Shortage Of Attendance And A Student Who Fails To Secure 75% Attendance In A Course Shall Be Required To Repeat That Semester.

Medium Of Instruction

The Medium Of Instruction Shall Be English. However A Candidate Will Be Permitted To Write The Examination Either In English Or In Kannada.

Dissertation

Each Student Will Choose Business Research Project/Live Business Problem In A Business Organization Or Industry, And Prepare A Dissertation Report. He/She Will Formulate It As A Research/Consultancy Problem, Work Under The Guidance Of A Faculty Member On It During The II & III Semesters, Prepare A Report Based On His/Her Work Under The Guidance Of A Faculty Member And Submit At The End Of Each Semester. This Will Be Evaluated For 150 Marks. Project Dissertation Guidance For A Faculty Member Will Involve A Workload Of 5 Hours Per Week In A Semester. Dissertation Guidance Of 8 Students By A Faculty Member Will Be Equivalent To The Teaching Of One Paper Per Semester. Viva Voce Examination Will Be Conducted For 50 Marks By BOE.

Master of Commerce(M.Com.)

Course

To ensure standard and quality of curriculum, all our programs go through careful assessment to meet the institutional and industry standards. The curriculum provides opportunities for students to develop skills required for global job market.

The program includes, industrial visits, and also provides exposure to international trends and issues.

Duration

The Duration Of The MBA Program Shall Extend Over 4 Semesters (Two Academic Years) Of 16 Weeks Or More Each With A Minimum Of 90 Actual Working Days Of Instruction In Each Semester And 2 To 3 Weeks Of Examinations.

Eligibility

A graduate degree under 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 pattern under any discipline securing at least 50% marks in aggregate including languages from a recognized University in India or abroad.
Honors degree under 10+2+4 pattern from a recognized university under UGC Act having at least 50% marks in aggregate including languages.
Candidates who have passed bachelor / master degree through correspondence / Open University system from this university or from any other university recognized by law are exempted from 10+2 pattern. The duration of the degrees must be three and two years respectively.
Candidates who pass bachelor/master degree in any university system in single sitting pattern are not eligible.
In case of SC/ST/Cat I candidates, there will be a relaxation of 5% in the aggregate of marks obtained.
All admissions to CBSMS and affiliated colleges will be made through an entrance test conducted by appropriate body as approved by Government of Karnataka and State Level Counseling based on Rank Merit and the reservation rules based on the seat matrix as announced by the Government of Karnataka from time to time.

Medium Of Instruction

The Medium Of Instruction For All Subjects And Examination Shall Be English Only.

Minimum Credits And Maximum Credits

There shall be three categories of courses viz., Core and Compulsory Course, Specialization Course and Open Elective Course/Soft Core Course. The Open Electives are the University approved Courses offered by other Departments of Bangalore University.
The credits for each of Compulsory Course and specialization course may vary from 2 to 4 credits. In case of open electives course, each paper shall be of 3 credits. A student is required to take one open elective course in III Semester.

Attendance

Each paper shall be taken for the purpose of calculating attendance.
Students are required to attend for not less than 75% of the classes in each subject in order to be eligible to appear for the University examinations.
The statement of attendance shall be displayed on the Notice Board by the institution at end of every month for information of students.
Five marks in Internal Assessment shall be awarded based on the percentage of attendance as an incentive to the student for regularity in attendance.
A student who does not satisfy the requirement of percentage of attendance shall not be permitted to take the examination of that paper(s).

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Course

MCA (Master Of Computer Applications) Is A Professional Master's Degree In Computer Science. It focusing on developing competencies required for computer application in I.T. and Business Environment.

Duration

The Course Of Study Shall Be Three Years.

Eligibility

Any recognized degree with aggregate of 50% marks (45% to SC/ST) Compulsory Mathematics + Qualifying Entrance Test.

Attendance

In Each Semester A Candidate Should Be Considered To Have Successfully Undergone The Prescribed Course Of Study If The Candidate Has Attended At Least 75% Of The Classes In Each Subject (Theory, Lab & Practical).

Scheme Of Examination

The Internal Assessment marks should be decided for each of the theory subjects by conducting 2 tests, each of 60 minutes duration, spread over the span of a Semester. A seminar should also be given by the student in the third year and the same to be assessed and evaluated for internal assessment along with the two tests.
The Internal Assessment marks in Practical course is based on the performance in the Laboratory. The Internal Assessment marks for Project work of a candidate is based on the dissertation Seminar.

Eligibility To Go To The Higher Semester

A Candidate is allowed to carry over all the previous uncleared (failed) theory papers and Practicals to subsequent semesters from the first to sixth semester.
The maximum period for completion of the course shall be six years from the date of admission.

Minimum For Pass And Declaration Of Results

A For a pass in a semester, a candidate shall secure a minimum of 40% of the marks prescribed for a subject in the University Examination (Theory, Practical, Project work) and 50% of the marks in the aggregate inclusive of the Internal Assessment marks obtained in all subjects put together.
The candidates who do not satisfy 7(a) shall be deemed to have failed and have to take exams in the subjects in which he has secured less than 40% at the University examination.
Provision is made for rejection of results of all the subjects of a Semester only once, if the candidate decides to reappear for all the subjects of that semester. Such rejection should be made within 30 days of announcement of result, by making a written application, through the Head of the Institution. If such rejection is in respect of the results of all the subjects of one semester and earn fresh Internal marks as well.
The results of any semester will be declared as pass or fail as the case may be in accordance with regulation 7(a).
To be eligible for the award of the MCA degree, a candidate shall have completed the scheme of training and passed in all subjects prescribed for the Course.
Further to regulation 7(a), the classification followed by the University for all PG courses shall be made applicable for the declaration of results of each Semester.

Course

Bachelor of Business Administration aims in providing an authentic and comprehensive knowledge in business management and giving an insight into the latest trends in global business thinking. It aims at providing high quality management education for those who aspire a career in Business Administration comprehending the complexities of Business Environment.

Duration

BBA Is A 3-Year Professional Undergraduate Course In Business Management.

Eligibility

PDC/ PU / 10+2 or equivalent course with any combination.

Medium Of Instruction

The Medium Of Instruction Shall Be In English.

Attendance

For the purpose of calculating attendance, each semester shall be taken as a Unit.
A student shall be considered to have satisfied the requirement of attendance for the semester, if he/she has attended not less than 75% in aggregate of the number of working periods in each of the subjects compulsorily.
A student who fails to complete the course in the manner stated above shall not be permitted to take the University examination.

Scheme Of Examination

There shall be a university examination at the end of each semester. The maximum marks for the university examination in each paper shall be 70.
Of the 30 marks of Internal Assessment, 20 marks shall be based on two tests. Each test shall be of at least 01 hour duration to be held during the semester. The average of two tests shall be taken as the internal assessment marks. The remaining 10 marks of the Internal Assessment shall be based on Attendance and Skill Development Record of 05 marks each.
The marks based on attendance shall be awarded as given below:

75% To 80% = 02 Marks.

81% To 85% = 03 Marks.

86% To 90% = 04 Marks.

91% To 100% = 05 Marks.

Marks for skill development shall be awarded by the faculty concerned based on Skill Development exercises provided in the syllabus of each paper. The student is required to prepare/workout the concerned exercises in a Record Book maintained by him/her and shall submit it the faculty concerned at least 15 days before the last date of the semester.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

Course

The program is the First step to become a computer professional. It prepares the students for a professional career in Computing and Information Technology. It gives an in-depth knowledge of software concepts through a right blend of theory and practice incorporating the latest developments in the industry.

Duration

Durations Of The Undergraduate Programmes Shall Extend Over Four Semesters (Two Academic Years) For The Associate Degree (Advance Diploma), Six Semesters (Three Academic Years) For The Regular Bachelor Degree. The Maximum Period For Completion Of The Course Shall Be Six Years From The Date Of Admission.

Scheme Of Study

There shall be five theory papers and two practical from first semester to fourth semester.
There will be five theory, two practical and one project in fifth semester. There will be four theory, one practical and one project in sixth semester.
The project work shall be carried out either independently or jointly (maximum of three students).
Medium of Instruction: The medium of instruction shall be English.

Scheme Of Examination

At The End Of Each Semester There Will Be University Examination Of Three Hours Duration In Each Of The Theory Paper/Practical.

Attendance

As Per Bangalore University Regulations I N Force For Science Degree Courses.

Eligibility

Students who have passed JODC or dip in Engg. (3 yrs duration of Govt. of Karnataka) with min 35% of marks in aggregate in all the semesters/ years.

Project Work

Students Should Individually Develop A Project. They Should Implement Their Project In College In Any RDBMS Package Or Any Language Available In The College. The Project Should Web Based. The Students Have To Collect Data Outside Practical Hours. Project May Be Taken Outside But Must Be Implemented In The College. Internal Marks Can Be Awarded By The Guide By Evaluating The Performance Of The Students During The Course Of Project Work. In Viva-Voce The Questions Must Be Directed Only On The Project Work To Access The Involvement And Understanding Of The Problem By The Students.

The Project Carries 200 Marks Is Distributed As Follows:

Objectives of the course

1. B.V.A in Product Design:

The primary objective of the program is to impart the knowledge in the areas on Design history, Culture and art and important miles stones in the History of the world. Course bring design awareness about two, three and four dimensional designs, knowledge about the Design process, aesthetics and the creative elements involved.
The Course provides knowledge about consumer products, custom based products design, design Process and the sustainability of the design.
To introduce the digital interface and digital Medium and its application in design and enable 3D representations of the Design.
To enable to understand and design the products to support the environmental friendly and sustainable in nature. To engage the student in continuous dialogue and discourses for better understanding the requirements of cross cultural modern Society .To encourage an understanding of personal aims, goals and abilities through self reflection and self directed Projects.

2. B.V.A in Interior / Spatial Design:

Humans are always associated with Space and have developed deeper association. In the process of living together spaces will develop their own identities which are connected to the aesthetic appreciation, taste and style of human being.
This Course will develop sensibilities to identify the space-Human relation and explore to provide a meaning through the design possibilities.
The course introduces different spaces and their needs in the changing cultural values and basic human needs.
The course facilitates students to interact with space and evaluate , to creatively think and provide solutions.
Students are also introduced to the new Digital mediums and representation skills as part of the program.

3. B.V.A in Animation

Animation s a new media of communication developed for both entertainment and non entertainment application.
This Course offers knowledge in basic Animation principles, Cell animation, Digital animation which is fundamental to the course.
Animation is used widely in Animation film making which encompass both traditional and digital knowledge which is the core training area in this course.
Educational Animation is also widely popular today and used in medical application largely. Other wise from primary education to professional courses like engineering, defense, aeronautic and in many such areas animation is used instructional visualization which makes teaching more effective.
Animation program focus on all these areas and also cater to the industry demands and the future requirements.
Game design is also part of the Animation and there is a great demand for the Game designers. This course trains students in Game art design.

Duration

The Bachelor of Visual Arts is a three-year full-time degree in which students major in any one of the disciplines offered by the School's Workshops.

System of education is liberating oneself from darkness to light. Once person get knowledge, he can understand and differentiate between good and bad. A person can moves towards right direction to acquire more and more knowledge. If a section of people moves in this direction, society can be knowledgeable society and that society will think and work towards improving their lifestyle. So, education will give freedom; also can be an instrument to eliminate hardship of a person from poverty, disparity. It is our duty to guide today youth in this direction. So that young minds can live better tomorrow. Pupil who works hard can progress fast in the present scenario.

We as a teacher should mould the present young generation aspiring for higher education in the right direction in right way, so that the young mind can catch their knowledge need and progress forward to achieve their goal. A team of teaching and non teaching faculties at EWCM delivering same kind of thing by diverting the attention of the young minds from distraction to focus on their set of education goals to achieve. Placement

EWCM is one of the pioneering colleges having a placement cell which looks after the placement needs of the students since its inception. The cell, besides providing placement assistance through campus selection, also helps students with career counseling, through seminars, workshops and group discussions on relevant topics, conducted at regular intervals.
