M.Phil (Degree of Master of Philosophy) Physics is a pre-doctorate program in science at Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam. The program aims to teach students academic application and research in physics. It enables students to collect information from resources and apply it in everyday life or for industrial purposes. The candidate should have passed the masters program in Physics with a minimum of 55% mark from a recognized university. The SC/ST candidates should have 50% marks. The final year masters students can also apply for the program. The admission is based on the entrance exam scores.Mahatma Gandhi University curriculum covers subjects including Theoretical Physics, Research Methodology, Electives, Nanostructured Materials, Inorganic Phosphors, Materials for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells, Materials for Microwave Applications, Dissertation, Viva-Voce.Upon the course completion, the students can apply for the Ph.D program if they want to pursue research or an academic career.
