M.ch (Master of Chirurgiae) in Neurosurgery is an advanced postgraduate course done by Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Salem. Neurosurgery is a medical surgery branch that examines, observes, diagnoses, and treats the nervous system's disorders. They perform surgery on the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves to remove tumours, relieve chronic pain and treat wounds, vascular disorders and diseases such as Parkinson's and epilepsy. Medical candidates can pursue this course by completing MBBS and MS/DNB from a recognized university under the Medical Council of India. Candidates can join this program by passing the entrance examination (NEET, AIIMS) done in universities. Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College is affiliated with the TamilNadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University Chennai. The TamilNadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University has put forward a syllabus that includes the topics such as neuro anatomy, neuro physiology, neuroradiology, neurology,neuropharmacology, neuropathology, fluid-electrolyte balance and nutrition, critical care, infection, cerebrovascular surgery, neurotraumaand critical neurosurgical care, pain management, pediatric neurosurgery, surgery of peripheral nervous system and so on.
