Course
Post Basic Diploma in Nursing is a postgraduate program offered by Government College of Nursing Thiruvananthapuram. Post Basic Diploma Nursing is a one-year course. The course provides in-depth knowledge in specialised areas like operation room nursing, critical care nursing, neonatal nursing, oncology nursing, burns nursing, neurology nursing and psychiatric nursing. The applicant must have passed GNM/ B.Sc. Nursing /B.Sc. (Honors) in Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing. Medically fit registered nurses or midwives with a minimum one year of experience in the relevant field is only eligible to apply. The course enhances their knowledge in the respective area and makes them competent nursing supervisors in the same. The course covers the foundation of nursing,speciality nursing, nursing management, education and research. The qualified nurses can assume the roles of nursing supervisor, nursing specialists, clinical instructor and researcher.
