The need to have a separate Medical University in Tamilnadu exclusively to deal with medical education and research at Under graduate, Post graduate and Doctoral level was keenly felt for over a period of years and was under consideration of the State Government since 1980. The State Government appointed a High Level Committee consisting of Dr. A. Venugopal, Dr. M. Natarajan and Dr. S. Kameswaran to go into all aspects of establishing a separate Medical University and make suitable recommendations to the State Government. our company The members of the High Level Committee consisting of Dr. S. Arumugam, Dr. M. Natarajan and Dr. S. Kameswaran submitted the proposals to the Hon. Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Hon Dr. M.G. Ramachandran in the presence of Hon. Dr. H.V. Hande, Hon. Minister for Medical and Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu on 5.7.1983 to start a separate Medical University in Tamil Nadu Apart from modern medicine, the Committee was also requested to examine and suggest improvements to be made in other traditional systems of Indian Medicine viz. Siddha, Ayurveda and Unani. The intension was that the Medical University to be established in Tamil Nadu should bring about co-ordination between various educational and training institutions of modern medicine as well as other Indian Systems of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, etc. and promote research. Based on the report of the Committee, the Medical University was established by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu Medical University Act, 1987 (Act No.37 of 1987) received the assent of the President of India on 24th September, 1987. By an Act No. 39 of 1991, it was amended that the Act may be called "The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, Act, 1987. This affiliating University governed by the said Act started functioning from July 1988. The Students admitted to the various Medical and Paramedical courses after 1.3.1988 come under this Medical University as per Government notification issued in G.O.Ms.No.1628/Health, Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy and Family Welfare Department dated 23.08.1988. The Administrative office of the University was initially functioning in a building at Velachery Road, Guindy, Chennai - 600 032 from 12.07.1988. From May 1989 the administrative office of the University was functioning at a seven storeyed building owned by Periyar Trust at 52, E.V.K. Sampath Salai, Vepery, Chennai- 600 007. The University has constructed its administrative complex in the land at Nawab Garden, Guindy allotted by the Government of Tamil Nadu as per G.O. Ms. No. 1165, Health and Family Welfare Department dt. 21.10.1992. The University is now functioning in its own building at Nawab Garden, 69, Anna Salai, Guindy, Chennai - 600 032 with effect from 12.6.1994. This is the only Medical University in Tamil Nadu capable of granting affiliation to new institutions under Government or Self-financing in Medical, Dental, Indian Medicine/Homoeopathy & Allied Health Sciences(Pharmacy, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy etc.) and awarding degrees under a single umbrella to maintain uniform and high standards of education. MyMathews Educare Private Limited (“We,” “Us,” “Our Company” or “MyMathews”) and our affiliates are committed to protecting your digital privacy. Documents provided for admission services

2. Core Operational Purpose
The MyMathews Portal functions as a direct-connect platform for students exploring educational institutions (colleges, universities, and other learning centers) without the interference of third-party intermediaries or agents.
We process Personal Data to:
Connect prospective students with educational institutions
Provide personalised recommendations, search results, and content
Facilitate admission applications and related processes
Important: Your contactable information is shared with Colleges/Educational Institutions only if:
You have actively expressed interest in them; or
You have applied to their courses/programs through the Platform
MyMathews does not accept applications/registrations on behalf of any college or institution. On applying to any course/institution through the Portal, the student is deemed to have taken the help of MyMathews team only for facilitation and information purpose.
3. Methods of Data Collection
We collect information about you and your use of our services to help us improve the services.
3.1 Creating an Account. When you create or update an account on the MyMathews Portal, we ask you to provide us with certain Personal Data, such as your full name, email address and contact telephone number.
3.2 Enhancing the profile. To be able to provide specialized services, we might ask for more in-depth profile information like your academic background, educational qualifications, entrance exam scores and date of birth.
3.3 Location and Usage Data. We collect information about your interactions with our services, technical information (such as log data), and location information to better understand your preferences and to provide you with information that is relevant to your location.

7. Minimum Age Requirement and Parental Consent
You must be at least the following age to use the Platform:
7.1 Users Under 18 Years. If you are under the age of 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you must use the MyMathews Portal under the direct supervision of a parent, legal guardian or responsible adult.
7.2 Verifiable Parental Consent (Mandatory). Under the DPDP Rules, 2025, we are required to obtain verifiable parental consent before processing any Personal Data of a child (individual under 18 years).
By providing your information on behalf of a minor, the parent/guardian:
Represents and warrants that they are the lawful parent or legal guardian of the minor
Consents to the collection, storage, and processing of the minor's Personal Data as described in this Policy
May withdraw consent at any time by contacting us
We may request documentary evidence to verify the parent-child relationship, in compliance with applicable law.
7.3 Users 18 Years and Above.
By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
Important: The Platform is not designed to attract users under the age of 13, and we do not intentionally collect data from such individuals. If we find out a user under 13 has signed up, we will delete the account and all data associated with it right away.
8. Data Sharing Practices
Access to your Personal Data is granted only to employees who need to perform their duties (providing, operating and improving our products/services).

MyMathews will retain your Personal Data for as long as is required to enable us to provide the Services to you or for the period required to fulfill our legal, regulatory, contractual or statutory obligations.
Retention Periods for Particular Purposes:
Active Accounts: We retain your information as long as your account is active.
Inactive Accounts: If you do not access your account for three (3) years, we will start the process of securely deleting or anonymising your data.
Application Data: Course application specific information will be retained for a period of three (3) years from the date of application closure, at which point it will be securely archived or deleted.
Legal obligations: Sometimes we are required to retain data for a certain period (e.g. for tax, audit or legal reasons) and we will keep it for that period of time.
At the end of the retention period, your data will be securely archived or fully anonymised/deleted. Under the erasure requirements of the DPDPA you have the right to request that we erase your data at any time, unless there is a legal requirement for us to keep certain records.

We are committed to protecting your Personal Data. MyMathews has put in place adequate physical, electronic and procedural safeguards in accordance with applicable Indian law (including Information Technology Act, 2000 and DPDPA 2023) and global best practices.
