About Us
Established in 1963 with three engineering branches (Civil, Mechanical and Electrical), RVCE now offers 13 undergraduate engineering programmes, 13 master’s degree programmes and doctoral studies. It is located 13 km from the centre of Bengaluru, the Silicon Valley of India, on Mysore Road. The sprawling campus, spread over an area of 16.85 acres (16.43 guntas), is set in sylvan surroundings. It provides an ideal atmosphere to stimulate the teaching-learning process, helping to produce skilled and disciplined engineers.
Rated as one of the top ten self-financing engineering institutions in the country. The current annual student intake for UG and PG programmes is over 2,000. With a highly qualified and dedicated faculty, it utilises its expertise in various disciplines to conduct Research and Development (R&D) for industry and defence establishments in the country.

It is my pleasure to welcome you to R.V. College of Engineering (RVCE), an Institution under Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST). RVCE has set itself a Vision "Leadership in Quality Technical Education, Interdisciplinary Research & Innovation, With A Focus On Sustainable And Inclusive Technology”. The evolution of the institute over the past five decades has witnessed strong blend of state-of-the-art infrastructure and intricately intertwined human resource committed to provide professional education with thrust on creativity and innovation. The motivating environment in RVCE for knowledge assimilation, generation and dissemination with a sense of social responsibility, human values and concern for social commitment has carved a niche for itself among the best technical institutes.
The special emphasis is on Outcome Based Education (OBE) and Experiential Learning. The academic activities concentrate on helping the students to gain an excellent theoretical knowledge base and in the development of skills to implement them. We are constantly reviewing our set up to update and improve while making sure that students gain thinking skills, analytical frameworks, entrepreneurial skills, interpersonal and communication skills. Impetus for research with a focus on identified interdisciplinary areas viz. Alternate Multifunctional Materials, Clean & Hybrid Power, Large Area Flexible Electronic Devices and Systems, Intelligent Transport Systems and Green Infrastructure and Management, based on the institutional strength, and with the emphasis on creating an USP as an institute.
RVCE has established a strong Industry links and over 30 companies have set up labs and also engaged in developmental activities with the college. The companies include Intel, IBM, CISCO, TI, NI, NXP, Samsung, Pace, Freescale Semiconductor, Bosch, Wipro, SAP, ABB, Bosch Rexroth, Mindtree, Infosys, Cognizant, Agilent, Hind High Vacuum, K-Pack, Kennametal, Lapp Cable & Tejas Networks.
There is also an ample of scope in co-curricular and extracurricular activities at RVCE wherein the students are encouraged to show their talents. RVCE ensures that the students prove themselves to be not only well qualified engineers but also very responsible and ideal citizens of our country.

Placement
The Department of placement & training was established as a separate entity in the year 1997. The Department presently coordinates with more than 200 leading organizations which recruits Engineers/Techno crafts and GET/ PGET’s for entry level positions in their respective organizations.
In the year of inception, the department modestly established contact with about 30 organizations and placed 140 numbers of students. With every passing year, the number of recruiting organizations have increased in geometric progression on an average about 200 nationally renowned organization visiting the campus annually & conduct their recruitment process in our campus and 1200 offers have been made by 178 companies / Organization for 2016 passing out batch.
The independent placement & training block in the first floor of the Administrative block has been built with a view to provide the complete autonomy and convenience for executives to conduct fair and transparent talent search to recruit good quality engineers for positions in organizations. The Department has set up all the required facilities for the conduction of the recruitment process such as seminar hall for company presentations, group discussion rooms and conferencing facilities, interview and discussion rooms.
