As Dr. Amarthya Sen said, Health and Education are two important factors for the development of any country The level of development of a country is measured in terms of health and educational level of its people. As an old proverb says “a sound mind in a sound body”. The level of education one attains depends on the health he or the possesses. Health is considered to be the greatest wealth one can possess. That is why it is said ”Health is wealth”. Health comprises of two aspect viz prevention of diseases and promotion of health, both fraternity of which Nurses the integral and important part. Life cannot be saved by medicines and surgery only. Nursing also plays a vital role in relieving the sufferings of the afflicted. The compassionate and loving touch of Nurses does much to relieve those who are sufferings from various ailments, There are a wide range of opportunities for a Nurse in the field of health and for advanced studies to develop expertise in practice, administration and teaching.This is unique opportunity to enter this great profession for the youngsters who aspire to make a career for himself/herself and serve humanity at the same time.Prasanna College of Nursing is established in 2005 as per govt. Order No. 29/2/205/Dt. 18-06-2005 and recognized by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences with a strength of 40 students during 2005-06.Prasanna Education Trust has started this college with a view to train the young people of rural areas for meeting the health needs of the country, The college strives to meet the growing demand for trained and qualified nurses, This college aims at preparing its students systematically and take responsibility for their education for maximum professional effectiveness through out their career. This college will make all efforts to make all efforts to make nursing education to meet the changing needs and demands of the society. Prasanna Education Trust was established in 2003 as a registered body with a view to give professional education to rural youths, Accordingly a school of general nursing was started in the year 2003-04 and at present the course is running its second year, The trust started a College of Education during 2004-05 to train graduates in the Teaching professional the first batch of 100 bed. Students is completing the course in Oct. 2005.It is the intention of the trust by bring all these Educational Institution in one campus.. The trust has acquired land measuring 50 acres between Belthangady and Ujire to house these Institutions, the trust has arranged separate hostel facilities for boys and girls coming from other places.
