MD Radiotherapy/ Radiation Oncology is a Doctor of Medicine clinical program by M S Ramaiah Medical College Bangalore. Applicant must be a NEET passed MBBS holder from an MCI approved university. The course aims to produce competent doctors to treat critical disorders including cancer, thyroid issues and some blood disorders using high energy X-ray radiation. Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) syllabus includes topics like Radiation Physics and Basic Sciences related to Radiotherapy Pathology, Anatomy,Biochemistry, Radiotherapy Physics, Urinary tract, Genital tract, Breast, Respiratory system,Childhood tumours, head & Neck, Mediastinum, Hematopoietic system, Geriatric Oncology,Skeletal system, Reticulo-endothelial system, central nervous system, skin, Gastro-IntestinalTract, Principles of Cancer Chemotherapy, Details of the practice of Cancer chemotherapy as applied to human malignancies, Molecular and Genetic Oncology, Radiotherapy including radiobiology, Radioactive, isotopes, recent advances, imaging system and their use in the treatment planning, benign diseases, palliative & supportive care. After completing the specialisation, the doctors can work in public, private, corporate hospitals, clinics, medical colleges and universities as Radiation Oncologists, Consultant Radiotherapists, Radiation Oncology Residents, Lecturers, Researchers.
