Obstetrics and Gynaecology nursing are two related fields of nursing where the practitioners deal with the reproductive health of women. They help women during pregnancy, labor and childbirth, as well as women with health issues with their reproductive system. As a Gynaecology/Obstetrics Nurse, you’ll also teach women, and teenage girls, about physical and sexual health providing information on treatments from birth control to mammograms. The course covers women’s reproductive health, from when menstruation begins, through pregnancy, childbirth, and through menopause. Gynecology nurses can also treat women who suffer from disorders or illnesses affecting their reproductive systems, such as cancer, endometriosis, or sexually transmitted diseases.
EligibilityCandidates should have passed a bachelor’s degree from any recognized University with minimum 45% marks in aggregate or any other equivalent qualification.
Duration: 2 Years
Higher Studies
Successful postgraduates of the course may even choose to pursue private practice, or take up advanced research in the field through courses such as Ph.D. in a given branch of gynecology.
